I'm a fly fisherman. I've fished all my life, but over the last several years my number one hobby has been fly fishing. With an understanding and patient wife and a home climate friendly to winter fishing, I'm able to spend a considerable amount of time on the river or at the tying station.

I have three brothers, all fishermen. My brothers also spend a considerable amount of time chasing around various species of fish. Of the bunch, I'm the only one devoted primarily to fly fishing. That we are different in our fishing methods is great in that it gives me a few opportunities to enjoy other areas of the fishing world with them.

My goal is to present observations I've made in my fly fishing and travel experiences in Arkansas, Eastern Oklahoma and Southern Missouri. The Little Missouri River in Southwest Arkansas is my home river, but I have spent time on the Little Red River near Heber Springs and the Lower Mountain Fork River in Southeastern Oklahoma, along with other Arkansas and Missouri locations. I hope you are able to capture some small part of the feeling I've tried to add to these articles.

And remember, with all the complexities and gadgets available to satisfy our fishing whims, when it's all said and done, it's just fishing!
