There's a lady standing in the harbour
waiting for those who seek comfort.
The beauties of her image are justice,
hope, and honor.
Her light shines to the world,
to those who see her as beautiful,
and to those who seek her destruction.
Her children love her deeply,
but some have forgotten.
On Market Street resides an old bell
whose song is about freedom.
It rang for the Declaration
at its first public reading.
The crack keeps the bell quiet now
but many still hear it's silent peal.
It once weathered a divided country,
and with hope, it will stand through ages to come.
Some have forgotten
and others may not care,
yet a solemn memorial stands guard
over the sunken Arizona.
A silent grave for men and boys
who gave themselves to Liberty.
Some were liberal. Some were conservative.
Some didn't know the difference.
All were patriots.

Our blessings are so great in this country. Let's hope that coming generations do not forget the sacrifices our ancestors chose to give for our freedoms. We go where we wish. We do what we wish. And often we fail to realize that the majority of the world's people do not have these luxuries.
